About Us
“A rising tide raises all boats.”
We volunteer teaching science/STEM classes to young people. From middle school though young adults looking to learn about STEM, start a company or learn a trade. We teach classes in the U.S. and anywhere we travel. Eric, the founder has been teaching STEM in one form or another longer than the term STEM has been in existence.
We have taught STEM classes in the U.S., South Africa, Europe, Panama and the Bahamas. Along the way, we met a few 'like minded' mentors and teachers in various countries that we support with tools; science kits, microscopes, computers and the video clips that we found useful for their STEM classes. This allows them to carry on with STEM. Thus came the creation of Traveling Science.
Our primary goal is to encourage more young people to move towards a technical or advanced science degree program. Our theory is that by breaking down the wall of fear that has children intimidated by math and science, some young people will be more inclined to move in a more technical direction in education and work. We’ve observed that as a few young people go into technical or science fields, that might not have otherwise, some of their friends go to college that might not have, some go to trade schools to specialize that might not have, and some just finish high school that might have dropped out. Traveling Science is built around this simple concept that “a rising tide raises all boats”.
